Veraciti Wires Up Homes
As Printed in New Jersey Business Magazine, September 2002

Veraciti a leader in designing and implementing computer networking solutions for business, has entered the residential marketplace by offering comprehensive home networking services By working with builders, architects and/or home buyers during the construction phase of a home, the Cedar Knolls-based company installs wiring based on the homeowners needs for computer networks (home office/education centers): audio and video distribution; energy and appliance maintenance; safety and security; and high speed Internet access.

According to Frank Altieri Jr., CEO, the company works with a variety of cables and wires based on clients needs. It can be a single line of multimedia cable manufactured by Genesis Cable- in a standard package which provides one connector per room, 100-megabyte Ethernet or CAT-5E for computer networking and speakers, or RG6 Quad cabling (standard cable wire. It can be a combination of everything, he says.

Altieri believes that builders can add value to the homes they want to sell by adding and actively selling the network capabilities. "The biggest problem we have, however, is that builders are looking for value added to their houses at the cheapest possible price. A lot of them don't have the foresight to put cabling into the house. Some are starting to think about it," he says, adding that builders, such as K.Hovanian, are starting to put cabling into some of their homes.

Veraciti has worked with a number of builders including Toll Brothers and RidgeView Homes in Pennsylvania. The firm's standard wiring package is $2,300 for 15 to 18 runs or total connection points in a homes. Logically, it is more affordable to design and install wiring while the skeleton of the house is up, rather than refurbishing an existing, older home. In this situation the price could be double.

In new homes , wires run the length of the structure through risers- a three inch PVC pipe. Controls boxes are placed either in the attic or the basement. Veraciti also can install wireless Ethernet systems, but these networks are less secure. "A $200 or $300 hub doesn't have security built into it, though it runs at fast speeds. More secure boxes that do encryption are available for $600," says Altieri.

Veraciti's home buying customers range from top-to mid-level executives with average value of homes in the $400,000 range.

The new service is just one of the many offerings being offered by Veraciti, which , Altieri says, is always trying to reinvent itself.

Home Technology Networking: Meet Your Customer's Demands

Cedar Knolls, NJ - Veraciti, a leader in technology for the business environment, announces the launch of a new service, providing the infrastructure for comprehensive home networking.

Veraciti's home wiring solutions provide the electronic infrastructure for energy and appliance management, safety and security, audio and video distribution, home office and educational center's technology needs including video conferencing and local area networks to share computers and peripherals.

Scaling projects to meet a new home buyer's needs today while building the foundation for future expansion, Veraciti partners with builders to meet the expectations and demands of today's new home buyers.

Veraciti's quality work and 10-year transferable warranty on all products they install results in satisfied new home buyers. Veraciti has collaborated with Genesis Cable Systems, Leviton Manufacturing Co. and OnQ Technologies to offer superior workmanship, equipment and wiring.

If builders are not offering their new home buyers the opportunity to make the up front investment in wiring their homes to take advantage of broadband technologies, digital cable and satellite, networked computers, high tech entertainment centers, energy management, remote access monitoring and control and disaster prevention, it is a disservice to their customers. Rewiring or adding additional wiring to a home years after its completion can be difficult and expensive.

Veraciti, with a long history of providing the business community with scalable network and Internet solutions that meet their business challenges, is the company to choose as a partner in providing networking for new home buyers. Why ignore current and future homeowners' needs or leave the wiring to electricians who may not have been trained in the specialty technology wiring business, when Veraciti is? Builders can increase their profit margin, build relationships with satisfied customers and provide quality networking when they contract with Veraciti to complete the job.
